Hi Everybody,
I run Outlook 2003 and IE7 on Windows XP. Yesterday I also ran into the
well-known problem of Outlook continuously asking the password of my Yahoo
and Gmail email accounts. None of the solutions I have seen on the web has
worked - not even erasing the key in the System Registery. (See for example
http://www.theeldergeek.com/save_passwords_in_outlook.htm)
I installed the patch KB904942 this afternoon. Not only did that not solve
the password problem in Outlook, it also screwed Windows Updates, which no
longer spots the update files in my computer. Here again, none of the
solutions I found on the web works. (See
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us).
I tried System Restore a few times. That does not help either - I cannot
restore the system to the pre-904942 configuration. I have rebooted my
computer at least 30 times today and am getting a bit tired. Anybody knows a
solution THAT ACTUALLY WORKS to the OL password & Automatic updates problems?
