Outlook inbox messages get marked as read when they have not been

We have a user here (the owner of our company) he has 3 computers and a
laptop, (outlook 2003 and 2007, windows xp) and his messages will suddenly
show that all have been read, although they have not.
And this will not be the case on all computers. 1 computer will show them
correctly. OWA agrees with the computers that show the messages read
(although they have not been).
The computers are in different cities connected by a PVN, the laptop
connects via a wireless card (cellular) or a wireless router in a conference
room. All computers and Laptop are using “Cashed Exchange Modeâ€
The mail server is a Exchange 2007 with windows server 2003.
Any help greatly appreacated.
