Outlook Installation and Invalid parameters

I have recently had to reinstall my MS Office XP. I lost
all outlook data...contacts, tasks, etc. I reinstalled
the software but cannot perform any functions within
Outlook. If I try to add a task, create a new contact,
set up an appointment, I get the following message:

Cannot complete operation. One of more parameter values
are not valid.

Can anybody help?

I had to reload my laptop and since then my Outlook is somehow
corrupted. I get a message when I try to edit, add to, or delete from
my contact list that says "one or more parameter values are not valid".
I also get this messege if I try to import/export.
