Outlook Integration

Ted

Forgive me if this has been covered but I didn't find it
when I searched.
I have Outlook 2003 and OneNote installed but they don't
seem to be integrated. The areas(boxes or menu
selections)that allow me to use OneNote to create a Task
is always grayed out and acts as if Outlook is not
installed. I checked the Internet tools and have Outlook
selected as my email editor.
Any suggestions?
Ted

I am having the same problem. And yes, if I click on a
mailto link it comes up with Microsoft Outlook. And I
have checked in my Internet Options to confirm that
Outlook is my default email editor.

Yes. It opens Outlook with Word as the email editor.

Just for spits and giggles, what happens if you use Plain Text as the
default email format or otherwise remove Word as the email editor?

That should rule out bad registry entries... did you upgrade an older
version of Outlook to Ol2003? There may be something hanging around telling
Onenote that an older version of Outlook is installed. Try a new profile...

I did upgrade from an earlier version of Outlook
(actually I upgraded to Office XP on my TabletPC). I
tried a new profile but that didn't seem to change
anything.
Thanks for helping. I would appreciate any other
suggestions. Needless to says I have tried a reinstall of
ON.

It sounds like ON "sees" the older version... the only other idea I have is
to set OE as default then switch back to OL as default.

We are trying to figure this out. Just to make sure, everyone with this
problem has Office 2003 and OneNote SP1, correct?

Thanks,
Tom

I seem to be having a similiar problem. I have a new PC and Outlook2003 is the only version that has ever been installed. I installed One Note today but it does not seem to "see" Outlook, I have no email icon and I cannot add it using the customize menu function.

Which office suite do you have?

If you are seeing this problem in OneNote SP1 and have Outlook 2003
installed, verify that you have the following key in the registry:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Outlook.Application\CurVer="Outlook.Application.11".

If you don't have the key, add it and let me know the result.

Thanks,
Tom
