Outlook is pulling multiply copies of the same emails

This problem just started yesterday. I have Outlook set up to pull from a POP
account. It is set to send/recieve every 5 minutes. It's pulling back
multiple copies of the same emails. It started with just one email that came
in 10 times. Now it seems to be expanding and going back to email that I
recieved months ago. Right now I have about 12 emails that just keep coming
in. They all have their original time stamp. I have recieved over 800 emails
in the past day and a half. Does anyone have any idea why this is happeing
and what I can do to stop it?

Are you deleting mail from the mail server? If not, you need to delete the
'bad' messages using web access.

I delete a few of them but then a handful of different emails started
duplicating. There is no pattern to it. They are just random emails from as
far back as June. When I do a send/receive sometimes it 3 emails, normally
about 10 but up to 27 eamils.
What could have changed from one day to the next? It was working fine two
days ago.

the message id's that outlook uses to track it may be messed up.
