outlook is sending out emails that i did not create

I use outlook 2003 to manage 2 email accounts (verizon and aol) and
somehow last night my aol email account sent out 10 emails with each email
going out to about 20 different email addresses (i dont know whose email
addresses they are - they arent saved in my address book). So i was notified
by aol this morning that i was in trouble. They sent me an email stating the
following:

The AOL Terms of Service agreement (AOL® Keyword: TOS)
prohibits members from sending unsolicited bulk e-mail.

So i had to chat with AOL and they said my screen name violated their terms
of service and they reset all of the passwords for my account. I did not
send these emails out. It sounds crazy but Outlook sent them out without my
knowledge. I have included below what one of the emails included. Can
someone tell me what the heck is going on!>!?!?

You have virus/spyware/malware, you need to scan your computer. If you think
you have anti-virus, make sure it's on, update it, do a scan with it.
