Outlook is very slow to respond, both 2003 and 2007.

Hi, can someone please help me? I have a brand new computer (December 2006)
and both MS Outlook 2003 and 2007 are extremely slow to respond. It takes 5+
seconds after every mouse click, etc. It is essentially unusable. My virus
scan software is disabled for incoming and outgoing messages. I do not have
this problem with any other MS Office program.

I ordered the MS Office 2007 upgrade in hopes that the problem would
disappear with the newer version, but it didn't. I don't know if this helps,
but it seems like the program is getting sent to the background automatically
because even when it is the only program open.

Issues like these are unlikely to resolve itself by doing an upgrade. You
