Outlook + Journal + OneNote?

In trying to figure out the best way to keep track of my to do's, notes,
research, and project files, I have begun relying on OneNote to handle all
this and more in a very effective way. The problem I'm facing, though, is
tracking my daily time allotments over projects, departments, etc. I
originally had a OneNote folder called daily journal, where I started a new
page every day and inserted timestamps and text to log my work. What I found,
though is that it was really difficult to really compile information for a
specific project. What I've begun doing instead is using OneNote like a
traditional project notebook; I write down information in the project folder,
with a separate page for each meeting, idea, etc. Now, I'm back to the issue
of daily time tracking. What I think would work great is if the Outlook
journal would keep track of the time I'm in a specific file, since I'm
creating notebooks and files for each project anyway. This seems like a
no-brainer in my opinion. Microsoft? Anyone? I can handle coding some VB or
something if I need to, but have no idea where to start.
