We have 3 individuals in our office and each has their own email address.
We wanted the capability to access another person's email from our own desk.
We created our own profile (in corporate/workgroup mode) on our own
computer. We moved the PST file from the individual profiles on our
computers to a new folder on our file server. When opening Outlook and it
couldn't find the PST file, we had to direct it to the new location on the
file server. This worked fine. Then I added the other profiles on each
machine. Now we are able to use any of the 3 profiles from our own computer
(as long as another person doesn't have it open).
Now the problem - I just tried this same procedure in one of our other
offices and everything was fine until we tried to RECEIVE mail. It keeps
asking for the user name and password to log-on to Internet e-mail. The
strange thing is, it only does this if the person uses the profile that they
didn't create on their own computer. They aren't having any problems with
SENDING mail though. So if Mary created "profile X", and John created
"profile Y", Mary has no problems with X, but can't receive if using Y. John
has no problems with Y, but can't receive if using X. It CONSTANTLY asks
for the user name and password no matter how many times we click remember
password and OK.
We are using Outlook 2000 and Windows 2000. Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.
