Outlook keeps recreating folder

I used a dummy folder on my desktop to migrate my e-mail from Outlook Express
to Live Mail (new computer did not have Outlook Express and it would not
migrate directly) Finally on to Outlook 2007. When I got done I deleted the
empty folder. But every time I open Outlook the folder gets recreated. How do
I get rid of it?

Running Vista 64bit Ultimate with Office 2007 Ultimate. It is on a Gateway
FX Laptop; 2.4 Gz, 4 Gb DDR3 RAM 320 Gb 7200RPM HP, Nivida 9800m GTS w/ 1Gb
or Video RAM. About a month old, created the folder during install of laptop.

Generally you copy your OE msg store and wab file to eg Documents on Vista,
then in Windows Mail import.
Thence once OL is configured you export msgs from Mail to Outlook, and
within Outlook import the address book

So how did you migrate your Live Mail msgs to Outlook, exactly?

I copied the Outlook Express files to the folder Called "Test" on my desktop
across my home network. I then imported them to Windows mail then from there
to full Outlook. Just as you said below, worked just fine.

The problem is the folder I made called "Test" that I copied the files from
the other computer, keeps coming back. I delete it then Outlook just
recreates it when I open open Outlook.

Thats got me; Your test folder should have nothing to do with Outlook.
Does this Test folder reside on the actual Desktop or within some other
path?

On the actual desktop. I tried the Vista Forum and they said try this one. It
is like it is in a path setting somewhere and keeps recreating it. I looked
through the Regestry and could not find it.

Have you examined, within Outlook tree view, all your folders, to see if
theres anything there that should'nt be?
In Data Management, only the usual data files are there?

I do recall an old problem with Outlook Express that caused a file to be
placed on the desktop every time OE was run, but this was a temp file
