Outlook keeps resending large email & doesn't remove from outbox

When sending emails with attachments or content over 300Kb, Outlook keeps
sending and resending the message but doesn't remove it from the outbox. I
was led to believe it may be antivirus program creating problem but am not
scanning outgoing mail.

Using Office 2003, Windows XP and PC Cillin.

Any ideas? Thanks

Some AV programs require uninstalling and reinstalling without the mail
scanning options to truly disable scanning.

A couple of other things to try is to lengthen the send/receive interval and
lengthen the server timeout value.

Hi,
I have a similar problem. When sending emails with attachemnts
of say 1MB the email remains in the outbox and keeps resending. No Attacment
and small attachment emails are OK. This problem is happening on 2 PCs.
Win XP SP2 all updates done. Outlook 2002 all updates done.
AV is not set to scan OG emails. AV is Trendmicro internet
security 2006. PCs are on a small network connected via ADSL to the net.
I have followed the previous suggestions by no change!!
Any suggestions where the problem might be will be much appreciated.

I am also having this problem. It is very irritating for the poor recipients
who get many copies of a large email before I cancel it in the outbox.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

I had the same problem until I changed the Send/Receive Timeout settings. It
defaults to 1 min. Every time you turn on Outlook you have to go and push
these settings for all affected emails up to the max 10 mins. You have to do
this for a few weeks and then Outlook suddenly twigs to it and remembers.
That was my experience, anyway.

Go to Tools, Options, Mail Setup, Send/Receive and change the timeout
settings to 10 mins.
