Outlook keeps trying to send return receipt.

I have two email accounts set up in Outlook, one for my netzero account and
another for my ISP account. I can only send out using my ISP account, but I
can receive email from both accounts.

A friend of mine sent me an email using my netzero account and she requested
a receipt for the email, which I did. And here's where the problem starts.
Because she sent me the email using my netzero account the receipt she
requested can't be sent (because I can only send using my ISP account), but
Outlook keeps trying over and over to send it. I tell Outloom to cancel the
send or to cancel the task, but a few minutes later it tries again. How do
I stop this? I keep looking in the outbox for something to delete but
there's nothing there. I tried rebooting, but that did not help.

This almost worked. I can see the items I need to delete, but every time I
try to do so, I get an error message.

I reread the web page and I did do some things wrong the first time. But I
seem to have done something wrong the second time too. I thought I had
successfully carried out all the instructions and I thought I got a message
that indicated that I had, but my outlook data file was corrupted in the
process. When I try to reopen Outlook I couldn't, I got an error message.
Luckly I keep backups on my USB drive so I deleted the corrupted file and
replaced it with the backup file; I only lost a few days data.

So the moral is to make a backup every few days.

The particular problem I was having was driving me crazy. The receipt was
trying looking for Netzero to send out, but when I dialed Netzero up, the
receipt still would not send. Seems like that would have solved the problem
but it did not. Anyway, this just goes to show how something so easy can
become a problem.
