Outlook locks down pc with black screen

I have recently had 2 users complain about Outlook 2k3 going to a blank
screen. The first user could only send 5 emails and then the screen
would go black and he would have to reboot before he could do anything
else. The second user that I just got off the phone with was trying to
move emails from the Exchange server to his .pst file when the pc went
black. Each have tried multiple times after a reboot and hard reboot.
The first user I just replaced the desktop with a new pc image. He is
running a Dell 270 w/512mb ram and 9gb free hhd space. The second user
is using a Dell 620 w/2gb ram and 20gb free hhd space. The pcs are
totally different and there is about 3 - 5 years difference in their
production models. I want to figure out how to get this fixed before
it becomes a problem with the other 300 pcs. I can't find anything on
this issue, does anyone have any solutions or ideas?

thx in advance!
