Outlook locks up - help needed

Yesterday Outlook 2002 SP 3 worked fine, I could create, send and receive
messages, today it opens OK, but as soon as I try to reply to or create a
new message it locks up. AFAIK I have not made any changes, so I don't
understand why, and I don't know how to go about resolving this. Where
should i start? Are there any obvious - to someone who knows what they are
doing - things to look at?

The size of the data file, the *.pst (a hidden file) might be relevent
Locate & run scanpst.exe against the data file (with outlook closed)
