Outlook - Mapi Spooler

I have a message sitting in my outbox which will not
send. However, when I try to delete the message Outlook
comes up with an error message - "Can't open this item.
The Mapi Spooler has already begun transmitting this
message".

It is blocking my mail server, i.e. I cannot receive or
send any other messages. Can anyone help with how to get
rid of this file.

Place Outlook Offline (File-> Work Offline) and restart Outlook. Delete the
message and place Outlook On-line again.

Same problem as the original post. This solution,
however, does not work.

range of messages stuck in the Outbox.
