Outlook message notification

I've upgraded computers for a user from NT to XP. On the
NT system they were running Office Pro 2000 and the
message notification worked as expected. Now on the XP
system with Office XP Pro, the notifier is not popping
up. I checked the settings and everything appears to
be set fine - tools -> options -> default reminder is
checked. Do you know what me be happening or how to fix
this?

Do you mean that awful grey (depends on the windows color scheme) box that
pops up and interferes with what you may be doing at the time? That one?
(Can you tell that is the first thing I check to make sure it is off?)

Under Tools->Options->E-mail Options->Advanced, did you check the box to
display a new message notification? If yes, uncheck it and check it again.
