Outlook muddling attachments

Hi we have some 3rd party software which uses Outlook to send out
emails with attachments.

When the send button is clicked in the 3rd party software, it pops up
with a new Outlook email message. The attachments are fine so far.
However, once the message is sent, and the recepient checks the
message, or the sender views it in sent items, one of the attachments
is duplicated, and at least one is missing. This happens
intermittently, but ONLY ever when using Word as the editor. It never
happens when Word is not used. Word is required as the editor in this
case as the autotext function is used.

Office has been completely uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. A
rebuild of the PC has not been done yet, but an apparently working PC
has been imaged over to the PC and the same problem is occuring, but
the same problem. We have not yet found out if the problem occurs
when logged in as the user that was originally using the imaged PC.

The software developers say they have never had this issue before and
have no suggestions, which makes sense given the problem only occurs
after Outlook has sent the message.

Anyone have any ideas?
