Outlook Navigaton Pane Folder View

I can almost swear that when I used to be in the folder view (monthly
calendar displayed in the navigation pane above all folders) that when i
clicked on my inbox that the monthly calendar would remain in the upper
portion of the navigation pane while I was able to view my mail off to the
right, but it goes away when I click on any of the folders except calendar.

How, or can I configure it so that the calendar always remains in the upper
left of the navigation pane folder view no matter what folder I click on?
