Outlook never shuts down properly

About 1 minute after I shut down Outlook each time, I always get a pop-up
error message that says the following:

"Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the
information you are working on might be lost."

Then there is a check-box to restart Outlook.

I have taken a screenshot of the error message in full, but cannot attach it
to this post. I can email it if anyone needs to see it.

This problem began out of the blue about a month ago and affects my computer
shut-down process at the end of each day.

Help please :(

Does this happen if you start Outlook in safe mode?

Upload the screenshot to one of the many image-hosting websites and include
the link in the message.

Nothing happens out-of-the-blue. Did you allow any updates to your PC to
happen without your explicit approval?

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your response. To answer your questions:

1. I don't know how to start Outlook in safe mode. I've only ever done it
the normal way.

2. The screenshot of the error message can be found here:
http://www.yousendit.com/download/WnBTb3BLeFh0QTFMWEE9PQ

3. I don't recall allowing any unusual updates or downloads. I do however
approve of usual updates from Microsoft, Java, Skype etc.

Thanks.

Start>Run>outlook.exe /safe

What's in Event Viewer?

Skype is a well-known source of problems within Outlook. Disable the Skype
add-in and try again.

1. I cannot start Outlook in safe mode following your command. See error
message I get. http://www.yousendit.com/download/WnBSeFVSSU91Yk9Ga1E9PQ

Can't open it. The site requires ad cookies (doubleclick.net) and I don't
allow cookies. However, I suspect it indictaed that you did not include the
space between "outlook.exe" and "/safe". You can also start Outlook in safe
mode by holding Ctrl while you start it.
2. What is Event Viewer?

It's a tool that allows you to view the logs that Windows creates to keep
track of system and application error events. Start>Run>eventvwr.exe
3. I don't know how to disable the Skype Add-In. But Skype is always off
and
does not turn on automatically when I start the computer. This makes no
different to Outlook.

As long as an add-in is loaded it can interfere with Outlook. Read your
Skype documentation for how to uninstall the add-in or ask in a Skype forum.

1. Ok, I managed to open Outlook in Safe Mode and the error message does NOT
appear when I close down Outlook in Safe Mode.

2. I have a lot of error messages in the Event Viewer. I have a whole text
file with it. Should I email it to you? Here are some of the most recent
entries (there are lots more of these same messages I think):

3. I have checked and it seems I don't actually have a Skype add-in
installed. I do have other add-ins such as Adobe though.
