OUTLOOK -- not importing email addresses

Hi - I have recently upgraded my software from 98SE to XP
Professional (and upgraded my hardware to a new PC). I am
trying to import my old email addresses into the new
Outlook (version 2002) but it seems to lose the addresses
during the transfer. I saved the old email addresses as
a .CSV file (and have saved that to my desktop on the new
PC). Would appreciate any help on this matter - it must be
a common problem?
