outlook not saving password

for outlook2000
unfortunately i can't remember how i got here, but i somehow changed outlook
and also outlook express so that it doesn't remember passwords.
there should be setting somewhere that allows passwords to be saved, right??

In Outlook you must go to:
Tools/E-Mail Accounts/View change existing accounts/
Select your email account from the list and click change
In the Dialog properties box now open there is a tick box to Remeber
Password - Tick it

save your password? XP Pro, Office 2003 Basic, Outlook... What then?
