Outlook Notifies me of Non-existant Emails

Recently, I deleted a second email account (AOL) from Outlook 2003. However,
I'm getting notices that I have more new emials than are actually in my
inbox. The old AOL account has been completely deleted and there is no AOL
software installed on my computer except AiM. Anybody know why this is
happening and how to stop it?

Do you have any message rules that are moving mails to other folders when
they arrive?

Check your rules.
Check the view used on a folder.

Just WHERE do you see that there are more new mails (unread count) than
what you receive? In the Fisher-Price fluff Welcome Screen before you
login to Windows? If so, read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304148.
