Outlook off-line; IE6 on-line

Is there any way to be able to use applications such as Outlook in an
off-line manner without this making Internet Explorer also be off-line? It's
a bit annoying having to keep re setting I.E. to work on-line, and I reckon
I'm safer keeping my email purely web based and not having it downloading
automatically. Presenly I use IE (on-line), and don't use Outlook at all -
which is a shame because I paid for it, and it could have some usefulness
albeit non-email elated. I wasn't to sure which group to post this to, hope
this is ok - it is a type of Officy question! Any ideas?

Work offline in Outlook 2003 is separate from work offline in Internet
Explorer. I don't know about earlier versions. I think Outlook Express, which
is part of Internet Explorer, not Office, does not work offline separately,
but you should be able to turn off the automatic send/receive interval in any
case. To do that in Outlook 2003:
Tools> Send/Receive> Send/Receive Settings> Disable Scheduled Send/Receive.
For Outlook Express, post your question in an Outlook Express newsgroup.

Thank you. It seems to have worked! Looks like I can even keep my server
and user names in there just in case I change my mind but can't remember
them! Thank again.
