Outlook/Office 2003 on Windows 98se

Anyone know if it is possible to install Outlook 2003 on
Windows 98? I don't need the rest of office, just
Outlook. When I tried the Office CD it said 'not
supported on this OS' (or something similar). I need
Win98 for some of the kids games!

Thanks

No. You'll need at least Windows 2000 with Servicepack 3 as stated in the
readme/help file

Thanks for reply, Roady,
So, the next problem is that I have to stick with Outlook
XP on the Windows 98 computer, but all my others are now
using 2003. I upgraded the Exchange server rules to 2003,
but every time the OLXP client wants to send it pops up
a rules dialog that asks about whether to keep server or
local rules. So I select server rules and it turns them
all off! It seems that you can't run a combination of
Outlook 2003 and pre-2003 on the same account without
these sors of problems. Do you know of any workarounds?

Thanks
Alistair

Create the rules on an Outlook 2002 machine and don't let Outlook 2003
upgrade the rules.

Thanks Roady,
Trouble is now that any OL2002 client reports:
"One or more rules could not be uploaded to Echange
server and have been deactivated. This could be because
some of the parameters are not supported or there is
insufficient space to store all of your rules"

I deleted all the existing 2003 rules.
I can still create rules from the OL2003 client OK,
though.
Is there any setting/function on Exchange 2003 to
flush/reset the rules cache?
I could try creating a new account and transferring
everything via .pst file, but that's quite a job....

Thanks,
Alistair

start Outlook 2003 from Start-> Run with the /cleanrules command line
switch.

Thanks, Roady,

I now have a situation where Outlook 2003 reports that
Exchange 2003 is in 'Recovery Mode' when first
connecting. This has been like this for several days now
despite all obvious reboots etc.
OL2002 seems to be functioning normally, but because of
this mode, various Exchange features are disabled....

Can you suggest, please?
Thanks,
Alistair
