hi, I hope someone can help with this problem, it's driving me mad! I have a
new laptop, plus i also have my original home computer, both of which have
outlook office 2007 (but pc is XP- laptop vista), and i have my pop3 email
account on both, however for some unknown reason, my original computer
receives some emails every day which dont ever get through to the the
laptop!....? I have checked the box which enables all emails be left on the
server on both computers, and disabled the Macafee junk mail filter, but it
is still happening - why is this? i am missing vital emails because I dont
always work from my home pc. no junk mail seems to be getting through to the
laptop even though ive disabled that feature - do you think its Macafee thats
causing the problem or something else?

If you have McAfee scanning your email, it could very well be the culprit.
There is no such thing as good email scanner and both McAfee and (in
particular) Norton top the list as problem sources. I would recommend
uninstalling McAfee, using their debris removal tool to cleanup all the
trash the uninstaller leaves behind, then doing a custom re-install WITHOUT
any email scanning features/modules/services. Email scanning is a trouble
prone, entirely redundant, and totally unnecessary service you're well rid
of. Your system will still be fully protected, so long as you keep McAfee's
resident file system scanner up to date. Anything and everything you can do
with an email REQUIRES temporary files to be written to and read from your
hard disk; this is the province of the file system scanner, hence ANYTHING
you can ever get that's a nasty will die at that point - you do not need
email scanning whatsoever.
