Outlook & Opening Attachments

I have Outlook 2003 & when I recieve an attachment (Excel, Word, .pdf etc) I
can not open the attachment by double clicking when the message with the
attachment is opened. I recieve a message along the lines that "Word (or
Excel etc.) can not open the attachment - user does not have access
privileges".

I can however open the attachment by double clicking via the reading pane. I
have never had this problem before could be attributed to the fact that I
have just done a complete re-install of the OS (Win XP Pro) & applications &
that I have not set something up properly? Happy to hear suggestions. Thanks.

It's a long shot, but try cleaning out the Outlook Secure Temp Folder.
