outlook - other application/device interaction

Hi
I have a device that sends mails via other than internet protocol, I’d like
Microsoft Outlook to interact (some how) with the device, to make sending an
email easier to any device users. So, does outlook provide any suggestions
to my case?

Rather impossible to answer with the information given. What is the
device, what version of Outlook are you using?

The device can send/reseave packets of spessial protocol, and it can be
connected through one of comm ports. The main question is how can i make
outlook to "speak" that protocol language... How should i do the transtation
and when? Or may be, the Microsoft Outlook, already has the partly solution
to my problem...

Well, we'd still need a lot more information to really answer the question
but it sounds to me like you'd have to write something custom to make them
talk, if indeed they will at all. Of course it also depends a lot upon
what you expect Outlook and this device to be able to do together.

i want to modify outlook, so it'd be able to send and receive emails through
my device. some like taking the to,from,subject,body,attachments from the
users letter to be send, translating it to device_protocol and sending it to
the device trough comm port. And vice versa, when user whants to receive
email, it will be taken from the device through comm port, translated and
shown as regular email at outlook inbox. Is this programmable in VB or VC or
something else?
