I have a client who somehow has deleted his outlook outbox or not but
whatever has happened OUTBOX now resides under deleted items and I can not
move, delete, rename or do anything with it?
Has anyone seen this problem before or knows what to do?
Any/all your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help Kathleen but I forgot to mention that earlier I tried
the switches and I am still unable to do anything with the location of the
Outbox folder. I almost tried all the switches but it didn't help at all.

Outlook is connected and connects to exchange 2003 & works fine. I tried to
move/delete the folder Offline and that didn't work either.
The OUTBOX icon looks like a folder icon ( Not the original OUTBOX icon), it
looks like OUTBOX folder was copied but somehow the original OUTBOX folder is
deleted and this folder sitting within deleted items remains.
It does function as OUTBOX folder should and under properties for this
folder, location is \\Mailbox - UserName\Deleted Items.

If you log onto the PC as yourself and create your Outlook profile there,
does the Outbox return to it's normal location? If so then the issue is
profile based and you could delete and recreate the Outlook profile to see if
that rectifies the situation. With all the email, calendar, contacts residing
on the Exchange server the user wouldn't lose any information.

I have created the profile on my PC and it is has the same issue. Short of
deleting the account on the exchange & recreating it, I am not sure what else
can be done??

It sounds machine-based, not Exchange-based. My next tempting thought would
be to delete the user.dat file and recreate the profile on the PC. Just make
sure you save off anything on the local machine (bookmarks, files, desktop
shortcuts, etc.).

Another thought is to run detect and repair from the Help menu. Or reinstall
Outlook.

Repair was done already on my PC with his outlook profile. I have done all
the basic admin tasks, client's Outlook profile on my PC has the same issue
and this icludes OWA. This client does not have local account on my PC,
deleting user.dat will delete my profile settings not his.
I am almost %100 sure the issue is some sort of account corruption on
exchange not local windows or outlook profile. I am wondering if there is a
way to move/delete outbox and have outlook re-cretae again.

After exporting client's email account to a .PST file, account was deleted,
re-created and OUTBOX issue was resolved. Still don't know how OUTBOX was
deleted in the first place.
Thank You
