I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but I'll give
it a whirl.
Our HQ office is in OKC where the Exchange box is. We have a remote site in
Denver where the users have a site-to-site VPN connection going over their
DSL. Yesterday I connected their new MPLS connection so now they have a
dedicated WAN link going to OKC. The first user worked fine where she was
able to access everything, including bringing up Outlook to connect to her
mailbox. The second user isn't so lucky. Everything works great but when I
go to open Outlook it won't connect to the Exchange server -- it just says
"Disconnected" after trying a few times. I can ping the server by both IP
address and name and from the Exchange server I can ping this users laptop.
So I know the network connection is working both ways. The only difference
between the two users is that the one with the problem is running Vista.
Both are Office 2003. The only thing I haven't tried is rec-creating his
Outlook profile. Also -- his firewall is disabled -- so that's not blocking
anything.
Any ideas? Seems like if I can ping both ways by name that Outlook should
connect.
