Outlook Personal Folders Backup - fails

Does anyone know where pfbackup.exe looks to see if it is already loaded? I
can't seem to get past this point, in order to reload the
Personal Folders Backup, which was failing to work. The pfbackup says that
the problem is installed and that I must uninstall, but won't let me to
that.

The Personal Folders Backup was not in the Add/Remove Programs list when I
tried to reinstall the pfbackup.exe and began getting the errors.
I have removed the outbak.dll from the /addins, and removed all references
from the registry. .
I also tried all this logged in as Administrator. /Thanks. Howard

Have you looked in Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options>COM Add-Ins or tried
renaming %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat?

Brian, Yes. There is no indication of personal folders back up on the COM
Add-ins. 2nd, I renamed extend.dat with no good results.
Any other ideas? Thanks. /Howard

Try the following:

Register Outlook Personal Folders Backup Add-In

1. Exit Outlook.

2. On the Start menu click Run

3. In the Open box type the following and click OK.

regsvr32 "c:\program files\microsoft office\office\addins\outbak.dll"

Now open Outlook again an se if it is available from the 'File' drop-down
menu.

Thanks. I copied the outbak.dll in the directory and then registered it.
Works now!
Thanks much! /Howard
