Outlook Plug-Ins

Good day,

I would like to know if anyone has installed Meeting Room Manager
(NetSimplicity) as an Outlook Plug-In and how is it behaving.

Thank you!

I haven't, but you might want to be more specific in what you are looking
for and in what context. "Behavior" would be a too broad request I think. Do
you want to know if it is stable in a certain Outlook version or how people
are working with it once deployed? Some software looks really good in a demo
but isn't being used once deployed (which doesn't necessarily has to be
because of the software or any technical cause but just because of the way
and the environment it got deployed in).

Already tried the trial?
You can probably give some feedback as well.

Hello Roady,

You are right, I should clarify my question. I would like to know if there
are people who have the Meeting Room Manager Plug-In in their Outlook 2003 /
Exchange. If so, is it working well or have they had to made many tweaks to
get the Outlook Calendar to work well once the MRM plug-in is enabled.

For example, is the Tracking tab still tracking responses, etc.

Thank you!

I think you should be able to figure that out in the trial. If you cannot
install software on your own machine (which is very likely in a corporate
environment) ask your system administrator if he/she can install it on your
machine or in a test environment. Surely you want to have some hands-on
experience before deciding to buy it?

not necessarily. we use Peoplecube's Resource Scheduler for this
functionality, and it has an Outlook Plugin (RSOE). We piloted this
outlook plugin on a few people and didn't see any issues, but when we
rolled it out to all 20,000 employees we found very serious issues, it
would cause calendar issues for about 10% of the user population. We
ended up rolling it back (a difficult operation in itself as
PeopleCube support had no idea how to uninstall this in a proper
fashion) and people have to use the web interface to separately book
meeting rooms (we're looking for a replacement for Resource Scheduler
because we still have problems with the back end application).

I also would like to know other organizations experiences with this
Meeting Room Manager product, preferably the Enterprise version, as
we're looking for a replacement for Resource Scheduler.

Hello Subsoniq,

I would give a call to NetSimplicity. They have this wonderful product,
Meeting Room Manager, which is a Web interface browser that comes with an
Outlook plug-in. I have no interest in that company! This is not a
publicity stunt! The reason I started this post is that, at first, I was
really desperate that the Outlook plug-in was not working. But they came up
with a solution that makes it worthwhile. We're not in full production yet
but are thinking Feb. 25.
