Outlook popup message

I just recently had to reinstall Outlook(updated it also) and now when I
click on a message with graphics I get a popup that says "contacting server
for information". It doesn't happen with every message - just the first one
until I exit and relaunch the program again. It never done this before and
I can't find an option to disable it.



Does anyone else have this issue or know how to disable it?

Firstly do NOT post here in HTML - change to plain text
and secondly, Why are you replying to Diane's question with the word
"anyone"?
Did you just hit "reply" without reading what you were replying to?

First of all, don't shout at me and tell me what to do! Secondly, be polite
and if you can't answer the question don't reply and keep moving. I know
what I wrote as I'm the author of the post. Diane asked a question and
hasn't responded so I posted "anyone?" to see if anyone else has an answer.
So if you have nothing positive to add please move on.

HTML is frowned upon in Usenet because it is not read by many news readers.

Sure YOU do. Most people using news readers in high volume groups such as
this only view Unread messages and would not have known from your post that
you had in fact answered.
What you should have done is to reply to your own post, then people ould
have seen that you had answered rather than an out of context reply.

Diane asked a question and hasn't responded so I posted "anyone?" to see
if anyone else has an answer.

This is Usenet, not a chat room. you may have to wait DAYS for a reply.....

Unless I'm blind, I see where I responded to Diane's question. It's right
under hers. I answered and said I have 3 POP3 Comcast accounts. If I
misunderstood her question, then I'll be happy to provide more info.

I felt your message had a very parent-like tone. I also felt you were
shouting by placing 'not' in all caps. That's also frowned upon on message
boards. I would have gotten the point in lowercase, trust me. You're using
all caps again in this message.

I don't use these groups a lot so I apologize for replying hers as "anyone"
as I meant to reply to mine.

Hi Diane -

I turned off the Outlook/Exchange scanning in my antivirus which is Avast.
I also went a step further and uninstalled Avast and got the same message.
The only firewall I'm using is the built in Windows firewall.

Is there anything else I could try?

Are you using a firewall or security software that scans email? The problem
is somewhat common with Exchange accounts but not with pop.

I installed OL2007 on another computer with the same basics (Avast, no
firewall, no antispam) and the issue does not happen so it's definitely
something on my laptop that's making it happen. Is there anything else I
could try besides reformatting and reinstalling everything?
