Outlook Problems After XP SP3 Update

R

Rob

After I updated to SP3, Outlook started crashing every
couple of minutes or so, sometimes less. This is very
similar to what happened after SP2 update. Only
Microsoft came up with a download to fix this. Has
anyone heard of a fix for this, or of anyone else with
this problem?

Have you tried Detect and Repair? What is the exact faulting application
message?

D&R is under Help in any Office program. If Outlook is crashing, then open
Word or Excel and use it from their Help file.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Rob asked:

I tried Detect and Repair, to no avail. I looked at the
error report that gets sent to MS. It contains info
like: application version, etc., but it has something
called modname: ntdll.dll. Is this the offending unit?

Hmmm - a real conundrum - try this article:

I went to the site you referred to in last post. I did that download after SP2 and all was good. Now after SP3 all is not good. Should I call MS and get that download again? It says on the page that it would be available in the next SP (which would be SP3). Or, should I (whine, whine, whine) uninstall and reinstall Office XP?

I'm having a similar problem. After I installed Office SP3, Outlook starts to
open and then the MS error notification comes up saying, "microsoft has
encountered a problem and needs to close now." I've used the detect and
repair feature in Word and the general repair option in the add/remove
programs section. Still, Outlook won't open properly. Any help with this will
be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
