Outlook Problems...Help!!

P

Pazman

I am running Outlook 2000, windows XP. A couple of problems have cropped up
over the last week.
1. Unable to modify anything in outlook. (addresses/appointements)
2. I get and error that says "An error occured while trying to access the
windows address book"
I am running current anti virus and spyware software.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and have tried the repair
option on the Office CD's but it has not helped.
Thanks for any help..

Have you tried running scanpst.exe against your .pst file to see if there
are errors to be fixed? How big is the .pst file? Does a shutdown of
Outlook and Windows reboot fix the problem?

Thanks for your response. I am not sure what you mean by running scanpst.exe
against your .pst file to see if there are errors. I am not sure what the
pst file is . Rebooting the system does not
help and I have installed all the microsoft udates for office/outllok. Thanks

Search for scanpst.exe using Windows search. When found, locate your .pst
file to run it against it to check for errors and fix any if found.

Using F1 help could have told you this.

I was able to locate the two pst files called "achive" and "outlook". I ran
the scan and it did find errors and they were repaired. This however, did
not eliminate the problem I am having with Outlook 2000. I still having the
same problems. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks very much
John
