Outlook problems

I keep getting the following message whenever I try to send
an email message using Office XP's Outlook. The email
itself was merely a test sent to another location to see if
it went through. It didn't. I have gone crazy to trying to
correct this problem, but to no avail. Is there anyone that
can help me, please. Thanks.

Jose

YOu are probably trying to send mail through an SMTP server other than the
one for your ISP where you are logged on.

On the account properties server tab, turn on the option for authentication.

I got this message myself for a while because my ISP (Sprint.ca) had been
"blacklisted" by the administrator of a university mail server. That is,
she/he had set the university mail server to reject all e-mail from Sprint.
The reason given me was the Sprint server had been used by too many users to
send too much spam.

This issue was eventually resolved between Sprint and the university, and I
was again able to send e-mail to people with e-mail addresses ending in
u.ab.ca.

Hope this helps,
David Ferrier
