Outlook pst file - Can one separate calendar info from emails?

I use Outlook at home and in my office, and would like to synchronise the
calendar information (i.e. appointments and tasks) between them.

Consequently, is there any way I can routinely prevent the calendar info
being merged with emails etc (personal folders) in a huge single pst file?
Ideally I would like to be able to keep the calendar info and personal
folders in separate files, but do not believe this can be done - or can it?

Not automatically at all, and not manually without breaking some key functionality.
