Outlook Question

Is it possible to get outlook to show the actual email address in the From
column? In other words, I would like to see this:

From: "John Doe" <[email protected]>

instead of

From: John Doe

It depends on what you have set for the display name.

Depends on what the *sender* put in their e-mail address field (From
header) as to what you see in the From column in the header list pane.
If they only specified an e-mail address then that's what you see. If
they specified both a comment field (for name) and an e-mail address
field then you see the comment field that *they* want you to see. The
sender included a comment field. They want you to see their "friendly"
name. You can do the same. In Outlook and in an e-mail account that
you define within it, you can leave the Your Name field empty (which
means the comment field will be empty or missing in the From header).
You could put your e-mail address there. Or you can use your friendly
name, like "MSCE Newsletter" or "John Doe". It's up to you.

In the preview header pane of the Preview pane, the From field there
will show the entire contents of the From header (i.e., both comment and
address fields are shown). I don't know why OL2002 shows the e-mail
address twice: once inside square brackets and again inside angle
brackets (which is how the e-mail address field is delimited inside the
actual e-mail).
