Outlook random shutdown

Peter A

Please help with the following issue regarding Outlook 2003.

Outlook will randomly and suddenly shut itself down on its own. It mimics a
crash but it is not registered as a crash. Typical shutdown askes questions
about deleting files. When this occurs these questions are not asked NOR are
any files deleted. It just suddenly shuts down.

I restart Outlook and continue using it as if nothing happened. Sometime
this will only happen once, other times it happes three of four times in a
row. When it does happen I have noticed its between viewing emails. Going
from one email to the next triggers this event.

I have done detect & repair and it didn't take care of the problem. Other
than this the program is operating normally.

Any help or advice would be most appreciated!

Have you checked your event viewer for any office-related errors? Have you
scanned your PST file for errors?

Thank you for your reply,

I have spanned the PST files and they are without error. I am not familiar
with the event viewer. How is this used?

Right-click on My Computer. Scroll to Manage and left-click on it. Look for
the Event Viewer, expand the + beside it. Highlight the Application Event
Viewer and look for errors, denoted in red. If any are Office-related, open
them and look for the eventID number and source.

Since your last reply I was using Outlook and it happened again. I noted the
time and viewed "event Viewer". There were no notations of any kind. No
error or informational symbol. I viewed all four folders.

Please advise and thanks again for your time and effort.
