Outlook re-downloaded messages from Exchange server.

My boss tried to send a large message. When it wouldn't send, he did a manual
send/receive. This began the Exchange server to re-download previous
messages to his inbox, from as far back as a year ago. Then, the messages
appeared as "unread mail".

Why would this happen? Help.

I suggest you post this in microsoft.public.exchange.clients, and include
the following info at a minimum:

Version & SP level of Outlook
Version & SP level of Exchange (if known)
Method of connection to Exchange server in Outlook (e.g., MAPI, RPC over
HTTP, POP, IMAP)
