outlook reconfiguring

just set up outlook2003 on a new laptop and each time a message arrives I am
getting a popup window saying that "outlook is configuring". The meassage
arrives and I recieve a similar message for each message that arrives. I used
outlook for many years and have never seen this before?? How do I stop it??
