Outlook - Recovery of .pst files

R

Roger C

I recently have had to replace my computer after a major HDD / motherboard
failure.

Fortunately the data was backed off off site to Symantec and I am now
rebuilding on a new computer.

The user profile on the new computer is in a named folder "roger" on "C"
drive whereas on my old computer from which the back up was made was a named
folder "roger XXXXXX"

Old operating system was XP new operating system is Vista

I have loaded my Outlook 2003 and this is satisfactorily working but cannot
seem to restore my old .pst files & folders from the offsite back up.

They restore to my computer but -

I have tried to restore direct to the new address and also to copy the
backed up files into that location and used import file feature in Outlook
but whatever I try The Outlook start up outlook folder structure and not the
folder structure from the back up and my Emails do not apear when Outlook 203
is started.

Any help or advice would be appreciated
