Outlook Reminder Window/Calendar

The Outlook Reminder Window will not dismiss any of my
appointments. If I select "dismiss" or "dismiss all" they
disappear but than reappear the next time I power down and
power my computer back up. I imported an outlook
calendar "pst" file into my outlook to populate my
calendar but what it did is when I open the appointment up
it changed the time and the date but remained correct when
I viewed the alternative text box from each of those same
appointments. I also deleted the calendar items on my
calendar in anticipation of the calendar I was importing
into my Outlook. However the newly imported calendar did
not populate my 30 day calendar. WHY?
