In order to receive e-mail via MS Exchange using RPC over HTTP, I recently
upgraded my O/S from Win2K Pro to WinXP. I had been using Outlook 2K3 (Eval
version) and SMTP/POP3 for 3 e-mail accounts. Before installing WinXP, I had
a
fairly large number of Rules and Alerts to manage my incoming mail. They
worked
like a charm. I am now running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Since installing WinXP, despite using the files and settings transfer
wizard, my previous rules and alerts apparently did not make the trip. I
began to rebuild my
Rules and Alerts from scratch. I managed to get about a dozen or so new Rules
and Alerts configured before having to attempt a detect and repair to
resolve an
Outlook Junk E-mail issue. Since then, any Rules and Alerts I have
attempted to
establish are not accepted by the Server and are disabled upon
synchronization.
The first dozen rules set up on the new Outlook 2003 seem to work just fine.
What gives? Can anyone help out with this?
Also, should I be setting all my rules as "On this machine only" since it
seems to
want to default to this setting in any case? Please advise
