Outlook Rules: Need time-based rule (eg. "last 30 days")

Please consider adding the ability to create time-abstracted rules. For
example: my company only gives me 75MB of online Exchange mailbox size. One
of the workable solutions is to move email off to a local PST. Works great.
I would really like to be able to have a rule that says "automatically move
any email older than 30 days to the local PST". The existing date-based rule
requires a specific date.

Thanks,

Jim

This is exactly what autoarchive does. See "Back up or delete items using
AutoArchive" in Outlook's Help.

Sorry for taking so long to get back. I haven't been on the forums in a
while. <sg>

Please let me clarify: Yes, the auto-archive function works, but I need to
be more selective about where emails go. If it was a simple matter of "send
all emails in my inbox over 30 days old to the inbox in offline.pst", then
your solution would work perfectly. However, what I really need is "send all
emails from <list of addresses> to business.pst, and send all emails from
<list2> to personal.pst, and send all emails from <list3> to archives.pst"
etc. Auto-archive won't give me the granularity I need.

Thanks for trying though.

You can setup specific archive rules for each folder; right click on a
folder, select Properties, select the AutoArchive tab, then chose "Archive
this folder using these settings". Thus you could set <foldera> to archive
to biz.pst, <folderb>, to archive to personal.pst, etc. This may not be
perfect - the emails would have to be in a specific folder - but it might
work.
