From Outlook 2000, I exported my files to a .pst, exported mail settings and
then exported my rules. I installed Office XP 2002 & SP3 on a new system (XP
Pro w/SP2) and imported the pst, account settings and the rules to it. It
asked if I wanted to have the rules updated, I replied yes.
When I viewed the rules the specified accounts and specified folders were
not disignated. So I re-entered the information for each rule. There is a
total of eight.
When I did a send and receive I noticed that each mail folder received all
the same messages regardless of the rules that were set. I checked the rules
wizard and found that the specified account had changed itself in each rule
to one account. The specified folders were unchanged.
I deleted all the rules then recreated them as new rules.
At first they appear as I entered them but would revert back to a single
specified account after closing the rules wizard window and reopening it.
I then set rules in Outlook Express to see how it reacted. The same thing
happened in Express also.
What Happened? Did I break the rules?
