Hello there. Outlook is running very slow it's driving me nuts. I'm using
Outlook 2007, recently upgraded from 2003. Each time I start up the program,
I get a message that it's synchronizing folders, which sometimes will go on
for a minute or two. My outlook.pst file is 7 GiG large, and I have archived
it, and I've also compacted the personal file.
It seems that when it's synch. the folders that it slows down the entire
computer. I have a server grade computer with 2 gig of ram.
My question is why does it do this synch. each and every time I start the
computer, and by the way, it also does this when I hit send/receive. Is
there a way to turn this off?
How can I speed up the performance of outlook itself?
Some more info: Right now in my inbox there's about 1600 items. I have
other folders in my personal folders, including a folder called inbox
archive, which I copied about 15,000 old emails that I go back and reference
now and then for my job.
Any help you might be able to give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Keith
