I wiped my C drive and reinstalled WinXp 2 days ago. Reinstalled Office
2003. Spent hours doing updates.
When I reply to a message, Outlook will save the "sent" message in the
folder that the message was in originally, but not the Sent Items folder.
When I create a new email, it doesn't save it at all. I turned off "Save a
copy of sent items to the Sent Items folder" after thinking it was causing a
problem, but that didn't help. I thought it was sending the message I just
sent out.
I have several rules turned on. Any message sent to my primary email
account "(e-mail address removed)" will get moved to the "James" folder. Any
message sent to (e-mail address removed) will get moved to the "Sales" folder,
and so on. I have 6 business accounts and 1 for yahoo set up in Outlook.
Rule 1 description states "Apply this rule after the message arrives through
the James account and on this machine only move it to the James folder".
After turning off "save to sent folder" it's not saving sent messages
anywhere but I need to keep Sent emails.
