With Outlook installed, there is a rightclick SendTo option to send the file
via e:mail. What I would like to do is add an option to send a link via
e:mail, which would be very useful in a network environment. I am actually
surprised that this isn't built in. That said, has anyone managed to do it?
The actual files in the SendTo folder include a DESLINK file (for sending a
link to the desktop) and a MAPIMAIL file, for sending an attached file via
e:mail. It would be nice to combine the two, and get something that creates
a link in the temp folder, sends it via e:mail, and deletes it from the temp
folder. Failing that, has anyone done a VB or WSH app that does the job?
Crossed fingers, as we really need to have this ability. Having Exchange
full of copies of files that are on the network is a waste of space, and a
pain to manage when people make edits. Sharing links makes much more sense.
Best,
Gordon
