Outlook send problem

When I try and send an email, send/receive, the message "hangs", goes into
outbox and does not send. I have pinged the servers and all connections are
OK I have tested the email account and all is OK (including test email that
was sent and received, I have "repaired" Outlook, OS XP, Office Pro 2003 all
service packs and updates current, can receive email. Any idea what may be
going on ? TKS for the help!
