Outlook-send/receive & pst

I keep getting error msgs. for send/receive. I can't delete msgs. Error for
pst reads: C:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst. Says "data error. cyclic redundancy
check". Does anyone know what is causing this? Am I low on storage for
Outlook 2003?
